In an industry still heavily reliant on paper processes, Speedy saw the opportunity to streamline services and accelerate growth through digital – inside and out. With an emergent transformation strategy, cultural challenges and legacy systems that impeded pace of change, Speedy wanted to know how they could build the foundations for new digital processes inside and propositions outside.
First up building a Strategic Linkage Model (SLM) to help distil and structure their business strategy. We combined insights from workshops, 121 interviews with key stakeholders and ideas already documented by teams across the business. It’s a tried and tested approach for us and one that we know delivers results.
Collaborating with the Speedy team we focused in on the technical architecture requirements, with an ambition to create a scalable blueprint built on composable commerce principles. A scoring criteria was produced to objectively assess the current architecture and a range of new models, to find the strongest fit. Hand in hand with their tech team we reviewed and workshopped the output before finalising the shape of the proposed future digital platform.
The Head of Digital asked “What should my digital team look like and how should we work with the rest of the business?” Based on the work we’d already completed we were able to define a revised target operating model (TOM) alongside the architecture blueprint and a comprehensive roadmap, which included the budget needed and how to organise to make it happen as well as to maintain their digital capability in a sustainable way.
“Transform worked at pace, bringing clarity of thought and delivering a detailed roadmap to help us shape future digital propositions.”
