Agile Strategy

Off to a flying start with company-wide agile strategy

Taking agile beyond the digital delivery and technology teams for broader business agility.

Growing faster than you can keep up with is a nice problem to have – but a problem none the less, especially if your ambition is to go even further. Having set up an agile operation within technology, EJH wanted to benefit from agile & product practices across the business – but contextual to them and only where it would add value to teams, customers and the business.

Put the manifestos away, it's time to get personal

Here’s what we did

Ask questions

  • Understanding the current state was key so we started by interviewing stakeholders from the various business functions
  • The output from this was structured into themes and differing points of view highlighted
  • We then used our experience to amplify those areas that really mattered and the impact that was having across easyJet holidays.

Debate & Decide

This was not a one-size-fits-all solution, so it was important for different functions to find a model that worked for them, as well as part of the whole – we created space for debate and exploration of options and ideas.

We were able to identify a range of challenges and opportunities, building on the success that EJH had seen with agile and leaning into a culture that already welcomed empowerment and autonomy.

Outcomes

  • 27 recommendations including detailed insights around leadership behaviours goal setting, role clarity and operating structure across all functions and at all levels.
  • Product was a key deliverable, defining what "product" means for EJH and setting the criteria for how different categories of product would be resourced and managed.
