Skills for thriving in today's workplaces

Transform’s Academy programme is a series of workshops delivered every few months, covering a variety of topics around the key areas impacting organisations.

Terms like "sustainability" and "Net Zero" have become so ingrained in our vocabularies nowadays that they're likely to pop up in daily conversation. But what exactly do they mean? In a world where environmental, social and economic impacts can no longer be ignored, how can we do our part in building sustainable services? Join our "Transform Academy: Designing Sustainable Services" to learn all about it.

What to expect

In this session:

  • We'll give you an introduction to net positive thinking and our newly crafted transformational design, as well as sustainability and inclusivity in the design space.
  • We'll present plenty of case studies and hands-on examples, to bring the theory to life.
  • We'll do a causal loop exercise with every attendee to explore how to make their service more sustainable.

The half-day covers:

  • Unpacking sustainable services through theory.
  • A deep-dive into the attendees’ very own services.
  • An interactive session for the attendees to explore how to make their services more sustainable.

Key takeaways:

  • An understanding of a net positive approach to services – generating measurable social and environmental benefits for citizens.
  • An understanding of sustainable, inclusive design techniques and how they can be practically be applied in projects.
  • The ability to identify negative social and environmental patterns/reinforcing loops in services, and define potential positive interventions to address these.
  • How to create a programme of optimisations and interventions to improve a service’s environmental and social impact.

Target audience:

  • The session is targeted to service design leaders who care about building sustainable services.
